Mighty Mullet

Materials

Hook:  Sz1/0- 3/0 short shank (Mustad C68SSS or equivalent)

Thread:  Clear mono (UTC monofil .006 or equivalent)

Eyes:  Solid plastic/ doll eyes

Glues:  Fletch-tite Platinum & Zap-a-dap-a-goo

Body:  Slinky Fiber & Angel Hair blend

Tying Instructions

Step 1:  Make a blend of Slinky Fiber and Angel Hair in desired colors.

Step 2:  Add portions of hair near the bend of the hook to form the tail and body of the fly.  To form the cylindrical head, stack clumps of material on the top and bottom of the hook shank working your way to the eye of the hook.  Trim the material to achieve the desired rounded shape.

Step 3:  Secure solid plastic eyes by applying Fletch-tite Platinum glue which is viscous enough to soak through the head and then apply Zap-a-dap-a-goo which will hold the eyes in place.
