Types of fishing available: Specializing in saltwater fly fishing and light tackle fishing on the Chesapeake Bay and its tributaries. Location: Fishing charters cover the waters of Virginia's Middle Peninsula and Northern Neck. Departure location in Mathews County is centrally located between Virginia's major cities like Richmond, Williamsburg, Newport News, Norfolk, Virginia Beach, Charlottesville and Fredericksburg.
Species: Chesapeake Bay serves as the world's largest breading and nursery ground for striped bass (rockfish). Speckled trout (specks) and redfish (red drum) are warm-water species that use Chesapeake Bay as the northern extent of their range. Bluefish, flounder, white perch, croaker and dozens of other species are available to fly and light tackle anglers.
Equipment provided: All fishing equipment including saltwater fishing license will be provided, however feel free to bring your own equipment. Cooler with bottled water will be on hand.
Things to bring: Food, drinks, sunscreen, sunglasses, non-marking shoes, and foul weather gear. Temperatures can be much cooler on the water than on land so pack extra clothing.
Catch & release encouraged: Clients are welcome to keep their daily limits of fish but are reminded that the fishery is a limited resource.
